Our very first Newsletter (and a Rift Puppy)

Welcome, Guildmasters, to the very first issue of the Guild Board!

It's been a wild few months. The demo went live in July and over 500,000 of you jumped into the Rift so far. Thank you, from all of us at Leyline.

Since then, things have been busy behind the scenes. The team has grown: new engineers, as well as more design and art craftsmanship have joined our guild at Leyline. With all those new faces, our old desks got a little crowded, so this month we packed up and moved into a new office within the same building.

Co-op Thursday

An update on the Co-op Version:

Every Thursday, we drop our tools and run the Rift together in internal co-op playtests. We've been reworking stage layouts, adding a new shared layout, and going through every event and relic to make sure it behaves when two guilds fight side by side. Our network programmers have been busy too, making connections more stable with each build.

After the first few sessions, the verdict was clear: co-op was way too easy. Two guilds working together turned out to be a lot stronger than we expected, so the Rift grew stronger in turn. Early reports suggest it’s now able to match the strength of two guilds combined!

Rift Spotting

Attention, scouts! Our expedition has spotted a new arrival deep inside the Rift. We only caught a glimpse before it disappeared into the fog...

It looks… Whether it's friend or foe, we can't say yet. That's where you come in.

Help us figure out what this mysterious figure really looks like! Draw your best guess and send it to community@leyline.gg or post it in the \[#fan-art] channel on our Discordby Friday, November 13th. We'll show our favorite guesses in the next issue, right next to the real thing.

Community Corner

We have a confession: we didn't expect the Rift Puppy to become this popular. But you've adopted it, drawn it and protected it from every possible danger, and we (and the Rift Puppy) couldn't be happier. Here are a few of our favorites!

Why are you all so talented?? Keep them coming. Credits: Sloppy / khanebulle (IG) / Jubi

Draw our next Header!

Next month's header theme is: Cozy in the Guild Hall. Show us what our heroes (and the Rift Puppy) get up to between runs. Send your art to community@leyline.gg or the \[#fan-art] channel in our Discordby Friday, November 13th. Submissions should be 16:9, with no text and some space for the title.

Join the Guild!

Next month we'll share an update from our lead designer Aleco, see you then!

That's it for our very first issue! Next time: the real face behind our mystery silhouette, your best header art, and more peeks from the workshop.

In the meantime, wishlist Guildrun on Steam, come hang out with us on Discord, and give the Rift Puppy a pat for us.

See you in the Rift!
